Road Retexturing
Hydroblasting is highly effective in removing the tar binder that rises to the surface of highways over time through heavy traffic use. Removing these deposits helps to increase the texture depth and restore the anti-skid properties of the road surface, thereby enhancing safety for road users.
In this application, the hydroblasting technique is a quick and efficient way of extending the operational life of the highway - particularly for surface-dressed and SMA-surfaced roads - at a much lower cost than resurfacing. This means that local authority budgets benefit through both reduced highway maintenance costs and lower litigation costs resulting from traffic accidents.
Surface retexturing through hydroblasting creates no smoke, fumes or dust and the result is a clean, undamaged and almost dry surface. Hydroblasting is also ideal for restoring the SRV (skid resistance value) to utility trenches with polished covers. With safe, rapid and highly manoeuvrable operation, disruption to traffic is minimised.
