Road Marking Removal

Road markings need to be robust and durable but this can make their removal difficult when traffic layouts change or wear and tear makes replacement necessary. The traditional method of removing highway lines has been to burn them off but this has the disadvantages of creating toxic fumes, damaging the road surface and often failing to remove the lines completely.

As a result, hydroblast technology is becoming the method favoured by many local councils and private contractors. With hydroblasting, highway lines - whether thermoplastic or painted - are removed quickly and efficiently, without damaging the surface or substructure. The technology is suitable for use on tarmac, asphalt, granite, cobbles, block paving and concrete. With the pressure precisely regulated to suit the road surface, our hydroblasting service leaves a clean, undamaged and almost dry surface.

Using our easily manoeuvrable machines, we can access all areas to remove white lines and other road markings in a single pass, without creating any smoke or fumes that might set off fire detection systems. The equipment we use is significantly less noisy than traditional hydroblast systems, with extremely low dB levels in use - similar to normal traffic noise. This makes TJ Hydroblasting the ideal choice for out-of-hours operations where noise restrictions apply.

Our systems allow hydroblasting work to be carried out up 100 metres from the feed vehicle. This means that we can easily handle projects with restricted access (such as underground car parks), parking constraints or continual traffic flows - even at busy junctions. With this fast, safe and clean technology, disruption to traffic is kept to a minimum.
