Chewing & Bubble Gum Removal

$ContentItem.ImageAlternateText

Most pavements and pedestrian precincts today feature unsightly, discarded chewing gum or bubble gum which, once dried on, is impossible to remove using traditional cleaning methods.

As it is classed as litter, local authorities have a legal responsibility to remove it and hydroblasting provides an effective and relatively inexpensive solution.

TJ Hydroblasting is able to undertake chewing gum removal without the need for chemicals. Our environmentally friendly technology removes gum from all kinds of surface including tarmac, stone, concrete and matting. As the procedure is fast and safe - with no smoke, fumes or dust - it can be carried out in pedestrian areas without causing disruption. In addition, the manoeuvrability and compact design of our hydroblast machines allow even areas that are difficult to access to be cleaned and left gum-free.

Less safe, more speed?

If the movement for higher speed limits does gain pace (pardon the pun!) and is ultimately successful, there will undoubtedly be calls for more anti-skid surfacing on the UK’s roads

The Pothole Review, undertaken by the Department for Transport’s Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme (HMEP), has been published under the title ‘Prevention and a better cure’ and its recommendations have received widespread support.
