Aviation Rubber Removal
The hydroblasting technique is ideal for the removal of rubber from airport runways. The build-up of rubber from normal take-off and landing operations reduces the level of friction of the runway, which can affect braking and ground-handling performance and may lead to incidents that compromise safety such as runway overrun or lateral slide.
By removing the rubber deposits, hydroblasting restores the inherent skid resistance properties of asphalt or concrete runways, without affecting runway markings, drainage grooves or lighting systems. Rapid operation and the ability to work in floodlit environments means that hydroblasting can be carried out with minimal disruption to airport schedules. In addition, and to ensure complete safety, we provide our own sweeper to ensure that no debris particles remain on the tarmac.
By adjusting the water pressure, hydroblasting can also be used to remove line markings at airports within taxiing zones and at aircraft stands.
